The Greatest Sacrifice

JOHN‬ ‭10:17-18‬ ‭AMP‬‬

“For this reason the Father loves Me, because I lay down My [own] life so that I may take it back. No one takes it away from Me, but I lay it down voluntarily. I am authorized and have power to lay it down and to give it up, and I am authorized and have power to take it back. This command I have received from My Father.”

Good morning! Today is Palm Sunday! It is a beautiful day of celebration and remembrance for believers in Jesus Christ. Today marks the beginning of “Holy Week,” which leads up to the death, burial and mighty resurrection of Jesus Christ! We as believers in Jesus Christ celebrate today because many years ago on this day, Jesus Christ entered into the city of Jerusalem as our Savior and King!As he rode into Jerusalem on a donkey, hundreds gathered around him and laid palm branches beside him in honor and reverence of him. Little do they know, these people were participating in a very prophetic event that was foreshadowing truly who he was, is, and is to come: the greatest sacrifice!

Jesus, who is our greatest sacrifice, was willing to bare our sins, transgressions, afflictions, diseases and all things that would separate us from his presence. This is the definition of true love. There is truly no greater love than the love that he gives! Jesus was willing to die a horrific death that we today cannot even fathom and comprehend in our natural intellect; all so that we may have life everlasting and more abundantly in him. Jesus died and rose again so that we would be saved from the trenches and stench of hell! He CHOSE to die! He was willing to even do it again, (free will) as you can see in this scripture reference.

Jesus has all power given to him by the Father. He put us before himself! This is the greatest example in history of what true servanthood and love is! Yes, our Savior was and is the greatest sacrifice for us! Glory be to God in the highest!

Blessings,
