The topic of tithing is such an often neglected and/or misunderstood topic in today’s society. It seems like today’s generation is all about ‘me’. Thank God that Jesus did not have an ‘all about me’ mindset when he went to the cross for the sins of mankind. We’d all be jacked up if so. Almost everyone wants to be blessed without giving the sacrifice but with every sacrifice there comes a return. But about this tithing thing; Why do most people despise or struggle with tithing so much? I asked God that question and he revealed some key things to me. Below are a few key reasons for people not trusting in this area of giving.
Reasons for not tithing
• Lack of relationship with God
• Lack of faith in God’s word and his promises
• Lack of trust in God’s provision
• The desire to have control
• Lack of revelation
• A hard heart
• Having itching ears
• Lack of understanding of ministry
• Love of money
• Lack of spiritual understanding
• False doctrine/teachings
• Reprobate mind
These are just a few to name. We are actually loosing out by not adhering to giving God our tithe. God dared us to do it. He said to prove him now with it. We do not want our bags to have holes in them by not doing so. Every commandment from God is for us to be prosperous and protected, contrary to popular belief. It actually works by the way, God does not lie! All of his promises are yes and Amen! We are robbing God’s meat by not tithing. Jesus said that his meat is to do the will of the Father. The will of the Father is for people to be blessed and understand the love of God.
So inclusion, If we desire to be called blessed by all nations, then we will have to deny ourselves and adhere to giving our tithe to our Savior. You will be surprised at all of the blessings that come from our obedience. May this post bless all those who read it.
Peace and grace,

Will a man rob God? Yet you have robbed me. But you say, Wherein have we robbed you? In tithes and offerings. You are cursed with a curse: for you have robbed me, even this whole nation. Bring you all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in my house, and prove me now herewith, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, says the Lord of hosts. And all nations shall call you blessed: for you shall be a delightsome land, says the Lord of hosts. Malachi 3:8-12
Honour the Lord with your substance, and with the firstfruits of all your increase: So shall your barns be filled with plenty, and your presses shall burst out with new wine. Proverbs 3:9-10
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for you pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought you to have done, and not to leave the other undone. Matthew 23:23
For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him; To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace; Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abides a priest continually. Hebrews 7:1-3
And here men that die receive tithes; but there he receives them, of whom it is witnessed that he lives. Hebrews 7:8
