One thing about this walk with Jesus Christ is that it requires faith and work to be joined together as one operation. You cannot work without faith and you cannot operate in faith without putting your faith to work (practice).
The Word of the Lord states in Hebrews 6:11-12 (AMP) states:” And we desire for each one of you to show the same diligence [all the way through] so as to realize and enjoy the full assurance of hope until the end, so that you will not be [spiritually] sluggish, but [will instead be] imitators of those who through faith [lean on God with absolute trust and confidence in Him and in His power] and by patient endurance [even when suffering] are now] inheriting the promises. “
What the Lord wants for his children is to have drive, dedication, determination and perseverance until the end. We should be serving him in Spirit and in truth! The Lord is looking for a people who have wholehearted hearts to be about his business! He is looking for those who do not mind plowing, sowing, digging and getting their hands dirty (spiritually speaking). The Lord is looking for people who have tenacity and have a servant’s heart.
One thing to highlight and zone in on in this scripture is that the Lord wants us to be careful not to fall subject to the spirit of laziness (sluggish behavior, in a standstill state, stagnant, not moving forward, lacking). The Lord also does not want us to give up our towels to through them away. We should be holding on, even in the times of hardship and suffering. Instead of giving into the the hardships and regressing in our persistence to the Lord, we should get to the place where our foundation is not moved and we have complete and entire trust build in Him! For it is when we learn to endure and keep hold of our persistence that the promises, the provisions, the answers, the manifestations and the release can come forth!
Going back to laziness: This will not get us anywhere. When we are in a state of laziness, there is a lack of understanding: a cloud that blocks and hinders takes over the mind and spirit. The Lord is looking for a people who don’t mind picking up the shovel to plow. There is so much more work to be done in the Kingdom! It cannot be completed with a lazy, lackadaisical spirit! It cannot be completed with a blocked heart! It cannot be completed with a heart that is not entirely sold out and committed to endure!
Our persistence should be unashamed. It should be unmovable. The persistence should push us past the doubts, the fears, the limitations and hesitations. Persistence should mean that we are holding fast! We never want to lose out on what God has for us because of a lack thereof.
In all, let us all strive daily to press more! Endure greater! Finish your race strong!
