Closing the Gap

“Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knows not what his lord does: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.” John‬ ‭15:15‬

Friends. What are friends? A friend by definition is someone who you have a relationship with. A friend is someone who can trust and count on. Have you ever felt like there is a distance between you and God? Have you ever asked yourself how can God be everywhere but yet so far away? Make no mistake, God is indeed omnipresent and there’s nothing that can be hidden from him. He knows our thoughts before we even think them (Psalms 139:2). But one thing’s for sure is that God seeks relationship. He is looking for those that after his own heart. We cannot know the heart of God without seeking him (Psalms 27:8). How do we seek God? By reading his Word and obeying it, by having faith to that every single word of God is true and cannot be denied as such, by loving God wholeheartedly and loving others as ourselves (Matthew 22:37-39). Jesus put it this way, “If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.” John‬ ‭14:23. Jesus is the only way to connect with God. “Jesus says unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes unto the Father, but by me.” ‭‭John‬ ‭14:6‬. Without Jesus there is no salvation and without salvation there couldn’t be any way in the world to know God truly for yourself.

Today if you struggle with getting to know God or struggle with hearing the voice of God through his Holy Spirit, ask him to help you in that area and watch God move. If you do not know God at all or what salvation is, ask Jesus Christ into your heart and he will answer your prayer.

“Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.” Revelation‬ ‭3:20

“That if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shall be saved. For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Romans‬ ‭10:9-10‬
