Being Commissioned

“There came a man commissioned and sent from God, whose name was John. This man came as a witness, to testify about the Light, so that all might believe [in Christ, the Light] through him. John was not the Light, but came to testify about the Light.” -JOHN‬ ‭1:6-8‬ ‭AMP‬‬

As we see here in these verses, John who was a follower of Jesus Christ was sent out by God to spread the Good News. So what does it mean to be commissioned? Well, to be commissioned by the Lord is to be appointed, consecrated, chosen and set apart. It is also a great assignment or assignments that come with being commissioned. Being commissioned also involves direction, a charge and commands that come with instructions to follow. It is also about completing the works God has called you to do. Being commissioned by God is to be his ambassador in leading people to the Spirit of truth and life which can only be found in him!

The light: Jesus Christ! Therefore, if we are to be followers of Jesus Christ and have his spirit within us, the light should be poured out, exemplified and given to others so they can follow after the truth of Jesus Christ.

In all: We are vessels who carry the light. Therefore, we should exemplify the light of Jesus Christ, as well as mirror his image as being the light to those in the dark. The light of Jesus Christ will always outshine, overpower and rule over darkness. Let us go out into all the world and point people to the Life-Light of Jesus Christ! He is the one to turn to, look to, believe in and hope for! He is the answer to all that we need! Go out and be commissioned! Souls are waiting for the Light!
