Being Commissioned

“There came a man commissioned and sent from God, whose name was John. This man came as a witness, to testify about the Light, so that all might believe [in Christ, the Light] through him. John was not the Light, but came to testify about the Light.” -JOHN‬ ‭1:6-8‬ ‭AMP‬‬

As we see here in these verses, John who was a follower of Jesus Christ was sent out by God to spread the Good News. So what does it mean to be commissioned? Well, to be commissioned by the Lord is to be appointed, consecrated, chosen and set apart. It is also a great assignment or assignments that come with being commissioned. Being commissioned also involves direction, a charge and commands that come with instructions to follow. It is also about Continue reading “Being Commissioned”

Walking by Faith

The best way to walk is to walk by faith!

When we walk by faith, we are putting our trust in the Lord who is the one that will never fail us, forsake us, leave us or lead us to the place of distrust or destruction. We can truly trust his will, his ways, and know that his promises are true and forevermore! To walk by sight is to trust what is seen in the natural. It is trusting the tangible. But true faith is believing in the realm of the spirit, which cannot be seen with natural eyes because the Lord is Spirit. Walking by faith causes us to rely, depend and know that with the help of the Lord, we can overcome and always make it through! Faith can only operate in the realm of the invisible. With this being said, let’s take a look at a few scriptures:

GALATIANS 2:20 states: “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me, and the life which I make live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”

2 CORINTHIANS 5:7 states, “for we walk by faith, not by sight [living our lives in a manner consistent with our confident belief in God’s promises]–”

To help us walk the walk of faith, there is what is called: “The ABC’s to our Faith:”

A- Action

B- Based on belief…. Which are the things not seen (Hebrews 11:1)

C- Is supported with confidence

It is the hope that we can all walk in a greater level of faith- knowing that it is by faith we are pleasing the Lord, trusting him with full confidence and believing that his promises for our lives are forever true! True life is found in the walk of faith!

Blessings,

The Lukewarm Bandwagon

We are now living in a day and age where being lukewarm is becoming the norm. It’s becoming acceptable to have one foot in the world and one foot in the body of Christ. People are becoming more and more complacent and comfortable with living by their emotions (flesh) instead of living by the Spirit. Many think they can still serve the Lord while having ties to sin: Fornication, adultery, idolatry, pornography, lying, stealing, covering, partying, drugs, alcohol, cussing and fussing, being connected to witchcraft, unforgiveness, the list goes on.

What is REALLY going on here? Why is this becoming pleasing? Why is this not being addressed more in the church? Does the body of Christ not have enough power to exercise authority and correction within the body? Let God’s word Continue reading “The Lukewarm Bandwagon”

Matters of the Flesh

“For the one who sows to his flesh [his sinful capacity, his worldliness, his disgraceful impulses] will reap from the flesh ruin and destruction, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.”- GALATIANS 6:8 AMP

It’s so unwise to trust our feelings and emotions when it comes to decision making. Our foundation in Jesus Christ is not rooted, centered or made to be based on how we feel. Continue reading “Matters of the Flesh”

Where True Life Begins

“He that has the Son has life; and he that has not the Son of God has not life.” 1 John‬ ‭5:12‬

Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. Without Jesus there’s no life. By him all things consist. Without him was not anything made that was made. God is omnipresent but he still requires relationship with humanity. There will always be a void if we do not have a relationship with God. No person, no amount of money, no amount of fame Continue reading “Where True Life Begins”

Where Is Your Persistence?

One thing about this walk with Jesus Christ is that it requires faith and work to be joined together as one operation. You cannot work without faith and you cannot operate in faith without putting your faith to work (practice).

The Word of the Lord states in Hebrews 6:11-12 (AMP) states:” And we desire for each one of you to show the same diligence [all the way through] so as to realize and enjoy the full assurance of hope until the end, so that you will not be [spiritually] sluggish, but [will instead be] imitators of those who through faith [lean on God with absolute trust and confidence in Him and in His power] and by patient endurance [even when suffering] are now] inheriting the promises. “

What the Lord wants for his children is to have drive, dedication, determination and perseverance until the end. We should be serving him in Spirit and in truth! The Lord is looking for a people who have wholehearted hearts Continue reading “Where Is Your Persistence?”

The Importance of Spiritual Maintenance

Spiritual maintenance is very essential in the life of a believer in Jesus Christ. I’d like to call it: The tune up.  Though there are three components to what makes a person: spirit, soul and body,  the spirit man of the person would require the most fine tuning. Why is this? Well, if our spirits are on one accord with The Holy Spirit, meaning that we are aligned in his will, his Word and are abiding by his truth and statures, we will be able to hear his voice more clearly and do what he has called and assigned us to do. Continue reading “The Importance of Spiritual Maintenance”

Are you Moved to Compassion?

The Word of God states in Matthew 9:26: ” But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.”

Compassion. Do you have it? Is it within your heart? Do you exemplify this precious act or is this something that can be a struggle to bring forth? Compassion is one of the major characters of the Lord that was demonstrated in his ministry.  This along with servanthood was a part of the foundation of his great message to all. Compassion is a great demonstration of how the body of Christ is to function. Continue reading “Are you Moved to Compassion?”

Faith in Full Effect!

Faith! Oh that precious word! But it is not just a word. It is noun and also an action. Faith involves loyalty and devotion to something. Faith is a belief and trust: giving your diligence to something. Faith involves a strong conviction. It is a dedication and declaration that you are standing on what you know to be true. Faith can be placed in good things and in bad things. Many people can place their faith in the wrong person, without the realization that man (people) can and will fail you. But do you know that the Savior, who is Jesus Christ will never fail you? That is exciting to know isn’t it? So how do we get to a place of having our faith in full effect and even greater, in a position where our faith is in the right foundation and soil according to the Word of the Lord? Well, let us dive in shall we? Continue reading “Faith in Full Effect!”
