Being Commissioned

“There came a man commissioned and sent from God, whose name was John. This man came as a witness, to testify about the Light, so that all might believe [in Christ, the Light] through him. John was not the Light, but came to testify about the Light.” -JOHN‬ ‭1:6-8‬ ‭AMP‬‬

As we see here in these verses, John who was a follower of Jesus Christ was sent out by God to spread the Good News. So what does it mean to be commissioned? Well, to be commissioned by the Lord is to be appointed, consecrated, chosen and set apart. It is also a great assignment or assignments that come with being commissioned. Being commissioned also involves direction, a charge and commands that come with instructions to follow. It is also about Continue reading “Being Commissioned”

Grace to Overcome

“I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace. In the world you have tribulation and distress and suffering, but be courageous [be confident, be undaunted, be filled with joy]; I have overcome the world.” [My conquest is accomplished, My victory abiding.]”- JOHN 16:33 AMP

In this life, it’s very hard to escape circumstances that result in trials, tribulations, hardships, pain and even suffering. Somewhere along the road, these things will be part of an experience that we face. It is in our response to the situations given to us that determine our outcome of defeat or outcome of victory. With the Lord as our present help, he gives us the power to overcome. His grace is sufficient and more than enough! When we understand his grace, which is unmerited favor, undeserving, his POWER and covering, we can trust and have full confidence that we will make it through because he has overcome! If the Lord has overcome Continue reading “Grace to Overcome”

New Life Awaits You

There is new life awaiting many in this hour. Many need a fresh start, another chance, a purging, cleansing, healing, deliverance, renewal and a complete transformation. This new life cannot be manifested in the natural. It is spiritual and can only be done with the help of the Lord. When seeking after new life, it’s important to be on the lookout for distractions, blockages and hinderances. These things will inhibit your freedom in Christ Jesus. The Lord has come to give you life and life more abundantly. And whom the son sets free is free indeed! One inhibitor that the enemy and even people who are not striving for new life in Christ will try to throw at you is your “old nature.” It can even be to the point where the negative influence of not changing and no hope being renewed is presented to you. This is all a flat out lie! Therefore, beware of longing to be what you “ONCE” were.- A NEW BEGINNING awaits you! God longs to make you what you never have been! This is coming into the nature of your identity in the Lord. The enemy however, longs to keep you in the same state of “always being.” Transformation is possible with the help and Spirit of the Lord! Life and life MORE abundantly! Aim for your new life in him! True freedom exists in Jesus!

Walking by Faith

The best way to walk is to walk by faith!

When we walk by faith, we are putting our trust in the Lord who is the one that will never fail us, forsake us, leave us or lead us to the place of distrust or destruction. We can truly trust his will, his ways, and know that his promises are true and forevermore! To walk by sight is to trust what is seen in the natural. It is trusting the tangible. But true faith is believing in the realm of the spirit, which cannot be seen with natural eyes because the Lord is Spirit. Walking by faith causes us to rely, depend and know that with the help of the Lord, we can overcome and always make it through! Faith can only operate in the realm of the invisible. With this being said, let’s take a look at a few scriptures:

GALATIANS 2:20 states: “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me, and the life which I make live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”

2 CORINTHIANS 5:7 states, “for we walk by faith, not by sight [living our lives in a manner consistent with our confident belief in God’s promises]–”

To help us walk the walk of faith, there is what is called: “The ABC’s to our Faith:”

A- Action

B- Based on belief…. Which are the things not seen (Hebrews 11:1)

C- Is supported with confidence

It is the hope that we can all walk in a greater level of faith- knowing that it is by faith we are pleasing the Lord, trusting him with full confidence and believing that his promises for our lives are forever true! True life is found in the walk of faith!

Blessings,

The Lukewarm Bandwagon

We are now living in a day and age where being lukewarm is becoming the norm. It’s becoming acceptable to have one foot in the world and one foot in the body of Christ. People are becoming more and more complacent and comfortable with living by their emotions (flesh) instead of living by the Spirit. Many think they can still serve the Lord while having ties to sin: Fornication, adultery, idolatry, pornography, lying, stealing, covering, partying, drugs, alcohol, cussing and fussing, being connected to witchcraft, unforgiveness, the list goes on.

What is REALLY going on here? Why is this becoming pleasing? Why is this not being addressed more in the church? Does the body of Christ not have enough power to exercise authority and correction within the body? Let God’s word Continue reading “The Lukewarm Bandwagon”

No Matter The Situation

“Rejoice always and delight in your faith; be unceasing and persistent in prayer; in every situation [no matter what the circumstances] be thankful and continually give thanks to God; for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.” – 1 THESSALONIANS‬ ‭5:16-18‬ ‭AMP‬‬

We should never allow our circumstances to dim our faith and foundation in Jesus Christ. Yes, there may be times we can become discouraged, weary, burdened and more, but this is the perfect time to enter into the presence of the Lord and allow his Spirit to refill us to the place of being full and overflowing. When we enter into his presence, Continue reading “No Matter The Situation”

Our Helper. Our Intercessor. He Knows.

“In the same way the Spirit [comes to us and] helps us in our weakness. We do not know what prayer to offer or how to offer it as we should, but the Spirit Himself [knows our need and at the right time] intercedes on our behalf with sighs and groanings too deep for words.”

‭‭ROMANS‬ ‭8:26‬ ‭AMP‬‬

The Lord himself makes intercession for us!Just know, that the Lord knows and is aware of what the enemy speaks in his bed chamber concerning us. The enemy has NO privacy! Hence, leading us to be reminded that the enemy has NO power unless it is given to him. Know that your help, and all that you need is found IN and THROUGH the Spirit of the Lord. When we do not know what to say in our prayer time, TRUST Continue reading “Our Helper. Our Intercessor. He Knows.”

Matters of the Flesh

“For the one who sows to his flesh [his sinful capacity, his worldliness, his disgraceful impulses] will reap from the flesh ruin and destruction, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.”- GALATIANS 6:8 AMP

It’s so unwise to trust our feelings and emotions when it comes to decision making. Our foundation in Jesus Christ is not rooted, centered or made to be based on how we feel. Continue reading “Matters of the Flesh”

Be Still and Know

“Be still and know (recognize, understand) that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations! I will be exalted in the earth.” The LORD of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our stronghold [our refuge, our high tower]. Selah.”-PSALM 46:10-11 AMP

Too many times in life we tend to forget who sits high on the throne and reigns. We tend to forget who is in control, who has the ultimate power and who is able to do all things but fail. So many times we worry significantly and try to rationalize things in our own strength, intellect and understanding. However, the Lord desires for us to PAUSE and REST in him: Continue reading “Be Still and Know”
