“For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.” Romans 14:17
Are you a kingdom citizen? If so, are these three factors checked off on your Christian check list? We are called to follow after righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. Righteousness shows that we are true in our walk with pleasing God by following his commands and standards, always being led by his Holy Spirit. Peace shows that we trust in God no matter what situations we face and that nothing can separate us from the love of Christ. And last bit not least, joy. Oh how precious it is to have. Joy shows that our focus is always on God no matter what, for we know that God is with wherever we go and in his presence is fullness of joy.

Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands.
Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing.
Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.
Proverbs 9:10 Amplified Bible (AMP)

Fear as we know it to be is usually defined with emotions and feelings that are unpleasant or caused by an expectation or awareness of danger, as Merriam-Webster would describe it to be. If you look to the Word of the Lord in defining “fear,” you will see that it is a hindrance. It blocks, it distorts and can cause one to be stagnant spiritually in moving and growing in the things of Christ. Continue reading “The Fear of The Lord (Reverence)”
